A native of Houston, TX, John was born into a Nigerian home where the gospel was cherished deeply and modeled excellently. After graduating from college, he studied at Dallas Theological Seminary. He’s served at churches in both Texas and Georgia and in 2015 moved into the Historic West End to help plant Cornerstone Church with his best friends. He and his wife, Shawndra, have been married since 2007. They welcomed their daughter, Ava, in 2017. They are eager to see the hope of the gospel restore a sense of family, dignity, and hope to their neighborhood through their local church of ordinary people.
The Cost of Cheap Grace, The Disciple-making Church and Pastor
Bill Hull’s passion is to help the church return to its disciple making roots and he considers himself a discipleship evangelist. Bill served as a pastor for 20 years and is the author of classic works that have supported the disciple making movement for the past forty years. He has written more than 25 books, among the books are Jesus Christ Disciplemaker, The Disciple Making Pastor, The Disciple Making Church, Conversion & Discipleship, The Discipleship Gospel with Ben Sobels and the False Promise of Discipleship with Brandon Cook. The Bonhoeffer Project has grown from two cohorts in 2015, five in 2016, fourteen in 2017, twenty-five in 2018 and is on pace for forty in 2019.
Rob helps churches sponsor children to release from poverty in Jesus name and plant churches in tandem with child sponsorship. He graduated from Colorado Christian University and was a teaching pastor at Northern Hills Church. He currently serves as the Church Relations West Regional Manager at Compassion International.
Dr. Nathan Lorick
Dr. Nathan Lorick is the Executive Director of the Colorado Baptist General Convention. His desire is to see a movement of God in this generation through intentional evangelism, missions, discipleship and church planting. He has served the Southern Baptist Convention on the nominating committee as well as a trustee for the International Mission Board. He is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned both a Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree. He also holds an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Louisiana Baptist University. He and his wife Jenna live in Colorado with their 4 children.
Nathan has been a guest on media outlets such as “Fox and Friends”, “Glen Beck Radio”, “American Family Radio”, “Tony Perkins Live” and many others for taking a stand for religious freedom. His passion to see culture transformed by the power of the gospel sets him apart in his generation. Nathan is the author of “Dying to Grow”, the initiator of the 1Cross app that shares the gospel in over 60 languages, and the “Game Plan” evangelism initiative. When not traveling Nathan enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, reading and running.
Tosha Lamdin Williams is the co-founder of Vanguard Church and the founder of Family Disciple Me, a ministry encouraging and equipping families to disciple their kids of all ages. Wife of senior pastor Kelly Williams and mother of five, Tosha graduated from Liberty University with a communications degree and from Dallas Theological Seminary with a master’s in biblical studies. Tosha is passionate about sharing Scripture’s truth and inspiring people to “Seek Him Speak Him.” You can find Tosha online at familydiscipleme.org. In addition to leading Family Disciple Me, Tosha is also a Vanguard teaching team member, a piano teacher, an AirBnB host, a carpool mom, and, when duty calls, a farmhand on the Williams’ small cattle farm.
Kelly grew up on a dairy farm in Kentucky. He is a graduate of Liberty University (B.S. 1993) and Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM 1996). Kelly and Tosha planted Vanguard in 1997. In the past 20 years, 3263 people have come to faith in Jesus and been believer baptized. They have partnered to plant 69 churches through Frontline Church Planting. The Southern Baptist declared Vanguard in 2014 to be one of the top 30 churches in its size range for conversions. In addition to being the Senior Pastor of Vanguard Church, Kelly is the husband of Tosha, and the proud father of five children: Anastasha, Christianna, Joshua, Annalarie, and Journey Grace. They live on a farm in Colorado Springs. Kelly still loves Kentucky Wildcat Basketball.
